Rūma Tarata’s Bird Feeders

In Rūma Tarata we have been learning about New Zealand native birds. We read a great new Big Book called ‘New Zealand Birds’, and everyone chose a bird they were interested in to write an information text about. You can see some of our published writing up on the wall outside Rūma Tarata. Following on from our Big Book, we made some bird feeders to attract the native birds to our school. We used pine cones, peanut butter, birdseed, sugar, and water. You can see our bird feeders hanging on the trees in the top playground. Please be respectful of our birdfeeders by not touching or swinging them. If you would like to know how to make your own… come and ask a tamariki from Rūma Tarata! They have done some great instructional writing to teach others about the process.

Mā te huruhuru, ka rere te manu!
